When I was younger, I might have shared pictures of my children on the internet without a whole lot of thought. No nude pictures, but I might have shared pictures of my kids' early birthdays or whatever.
I do not think I would do that now. I've worked with sex offenders in the criminal justice system before. I've known several people who never referred to their children online as anything but "The Child" or a pet name, for their child's safety. I have had a relative who got fired just for an off-hand grouse she posted on her Facebook about her job. So employers do look at your social media.
Now--No, I would not post much about my children online until they became older teenagers or adults. There are just too many sick people out there, and you have no idea who is looking at your images. Also, any image that you put on the internet, someone else can doctor. It's just not worth it. And I speak as someone who loves seeing relatives' children and the children of very, very close friends. I am glad to see those pictures, but I would be extremely cautious now about sharing them online.
