I ride public transportation, so for me, manspreading is annoying and vulgar. (Like, Dude, if you're that proud of your crotch, just wear a Tudor codpiece and be done with it.) But I agree that, as long as the bus isn't crowded, sit how you want.

I also try to remind myself that sitting with the legs slightly apart is, as you mention in your article, comfortable, and likely shows confidence.

I generally sit with my legs slightly apart for that same reason. I don't believe a woman should be obliged to sit with her knees together, especially if she's wearing trousers or a skirt that covers her knees. Miniskirts are a different story.
