They grow into confident adults. — I work in a state social program serving children with blindness or low vision and their families. We provide vocational rehabilitation services to these children by helping them adjust to vision loss. I collaborate with caseworkers to help the children become as independent as possible. Several months ago, one of our kids asked for an item that would help her see better, identify objects, read small print, and do several other things. Until that day, she was a shy kid. That day, she gave a clear presentation, made her case, and made her request like a pro.
