I would recommend against Blasting News unless they use a vastly different payment system than whatever they used back when I occasionally wrote for them. They paid pennies and then didn't understand why you hadn't written for them in a while. When I got that email asking why I wasn't submitting articles to them, I replied, telling them essentially, 'This is how much professional per word rates are. This is what you're paying. I can do much better--and not starve--elsewhere.'
EDIT: Interesting. It looks like Blasting News may have, in fact, changed its compensation system. They used to operate like a cheapie content mill. At the time, about ten years ago, I was convinced that their business was circling the drain. They used to send out little announcements, in the vein of, "Hey, we'll pay $10.00 an article for every article you submit to us this week!"
Now, it appears that they have a more structured and stable payment system, wherein you are paid according to the number of unique page views your article receives within its first 30 deays of publication. On the whole, it seems like Blasting News is making efforts to be more reputable. I still think their pay is low, but it's better and more stable than it used to be.
