Pickle Juice Beer — Not Such a Weird Idea, Actually
I literally could not believe this flavor.

My weird beer experience
Today, I went to a local bar/restaurant called The Watershed for supper. I really wanted a Jack & Coke and found something healthy I could eat along with it.
So I was munching away on hummus and carrots and sipping my drink when my church’s new curate arrived at my table and said hello.
And then she told me what she had had to drink: a beer that tasted like pickle juice.
After she and her family left, I went up to the bar.
“I have it on the best possible authority that you guys are selling a beer that tastes like pickle juice.”
“Yes, we are!” the cashier told me.
“I have to try that out,” I said. And so I did.
It literally does taste and smell like pickle juice — but it also tastes like lager, with the light fizz that beer has. Interestingly, a pint doesn’t make your throat feel like you’ve drunk a lot of pickle brine.
So, all in all, I liked it a lot as a fun experience. Above is a picture of what the pint-glassful and the can look like.
It’s brewed by the Martin House Brewery in Fort Worth. Leave it to Texas to brew something like this!
