Ah, this reminds me of my typing class. I learned on a manual typewriter, as well, but once I was gifted with an electric typewriter for college, I never looked back. It was one of the best gifts my parents ever gave me.

For a good, typewriter clicky sound, try a Cherry keyboard with brown switches. I use that model specdifically because it was advertised as being able to handle lots and lots of keystrokes while also providing a good sound and haptic feedback.
