I came to Medium on the advice of Jon Morrow, a pro blogger who sells courses and teaches aspiring writers how to become pro bloggers. However, I also returned to college to earn a healthcare management degree about that same time, so I haven't been able to take much advantage of Morrow's classes.

He recommended Medium as being an excellent place to publish one's writing, and I am very glad he did. Through Medium I have discovered many wonderful writers, and since everything that comes to my email from Medium is curated, it's all things I want to read.

I write fantasy as Renee Whittington and have a whopping total of two short stories published, so far. You have to start somewhere, right? When I finish my degree, algebra permitting, I plan to write a lot more.

My eventual goal is to start a freelance writing business that will include line editing as part of the services I offer, because I love to polish writing and make it sparkle. I have worked as an unpaid proofreader for a relative for over a decade.

The content I post on Medium will cover a variety of topics until I can decide which one I'd like to focus upon. Given my professional experience, writing about living with disabilities is the topic in which I have the most 'authority.' I don't think that's likely to be very profitable on Medium, though. I've also discovered that I enjoy writing about people who I find interesting and/or inspirational. I express the occasional political opinion, and I like to write about how to improve one's writing.

My other interests include stock investing, neuroscience, psychology, spirituality, near-death experiences, fine dining, and business. Oh, and Star Trek.

So come into my parlor, have a seat, and read a while. No tribbles, I promise!
